Infant Center (2 months to 18 months)

Our focus has always been providing children the start in life and here is where RIGHT begins. At StartRight Playhouse, we provide a warm, loving environment where babies can grow to be happy, engaged and secure. More than just care, we invite children to be early explorers and form meaningful relationships with adults.

Research based and child focused, the HighScope Infant-Toddler Curriculum uses a carefully designed process of learning through discovery, called active participatory learning. During active learning, caregivers encourage infants and toddlers to discover the world around them by exploring and playing. Learning and development are anchored by long-term, trusting relationships with caregivers, who are close at hand to support children as they play.

  • Active Learning: Every child is an active learner. Activities conducted are based on child’s area of interest
  • Observation: All activities created for infants are based on observation and assessment.
  • Adult-Child Interaction: Young children need routines and our routines involve:
    • Arrival and departure
    • Caregiving routines (eat, sleep, bathe)
    • Choice Time (child chooses their own activity)
    • Outside Time
    • Small and Large Group Time
  • Schedules & Routine: Every child is an active learner. Activities conducted are based on child’s area of interest
  • Learning Environment: Our classroom is separated into different learning areas to encourage sensory motor skills amongst infants
